Natropathic Doctors V.S Conventional Doctors

I have been going to a ND (Natropahtic Doctor ) for about 2 years. Better health and being tired of slow service were some of the reasons I decided to switch. Let me tell you, it is VERY different from going to a conventional doctor.

Something to expect when going to a ND……

They can be a bit pricey, my ND charges $120 hr and we don’t get coverage for the supplements that she prescribes. OUCH! My husband and I get benefits from his work so that takes a lot of the pressure off. Health is more important than money.

Now, that’s where the down side stops!!

My ND seldom makes me wait for my appointment. the waiting room is not busy and it’s in a cute little cosey office located in a residential area. I have to say my most favorite thing about my ND is that when I’m in the room with her, all attention is focused on me.

She doesn’t leave for a half hour just to come back and say ok, your one complaint is up see you next time. I can have as many concerns as my hour or half an hour can hold.
ND’s are not paid by pharmaceutical company’s. So you can rest assured that they are 100% dedicated to making sure you get healthy and stay that way.

Taking herbs or other supplements for our ailments is different from what we are used to, if we were born 100 yrs ago it would be the norm.

Medications have many harmful or deadly side effects, while supplements have a much smaller chance of ever seriously hurting someone!

I’ve had so many awful experiences at my Conventional Doctor. Even in child-birth he pushed me well beyond my limits for pain with my first two children that I will be forever traumatized. The only way I would go to one again is if I broke my arm or had immidiate life threatening symptoms.

My ND will forever be a shining light in my life, I am very thank full for her. My whole family goes to see her, my mother, grandmother, cousins, daughters and husband.

If you have never been to one I strongly urge you to research them and consider a change. Your life will be changed indefinitely!!

Chores build character. Dont they?

A couple days ago it was time for my oldest daughter to clean her room. The conversation always starts off the same.

"Your room is looking pretty messy, Can you clean it please?"

Of course she doesn't like to clean her room. But what do you do?

You want your children to appreciate and take care of their toys and clothes. She didn't want to clean her room and said that she wasn't in the mood to clean her room.

         BIG MISTAKE!

My husband did not appreciate her tone and told her so. Around twenty minutes later her grandma called asking if she could come and pick her up.
I told her that she couldn't go over until she had finished cleaning her room. After two minutes of talking to her grandma she was off and cleaning like a maniac!

                What did I do wrong?!?!

Is simply doing what your parent asks and making them happy not enough anymore? When I was a kid I remember trying to do the right thing to make my parents happy.

Kids have changed, a bribe is the main motivator in children's lives these days.

Its appalling!! or is it? Perhaps its just training children for adulthood. You don't often see an adult working for free. Or people moving out of your way in the grocery store, when you clearly need to get by.

Yesterday my husband and I went to the hardware store on our date so we could dream about our house. A mother and daughter (probably 13 yrs old) were walking in the parking lot towards the entrance of the store.

    Normal situation right??

Well this mother daughter combo were walking right down the middle of the road!!! My husband had to creep behind them because they wouldn't move out of the middle of the road. That's just plain rude!! What is this world coming to? Was there no gain for them if they moved?  I would never teach my children to be so inconsiderate! ever!

Lets all work together!

This situation clearly shows a person who teaches their children that common courtesy is not important because the pay off isn't worth it! Well let me tell you I do not want my children to be like that. I have more respect for them than that. Lets fight this epidemic together! Please for the sake of planet earth, include the following things in your children's lives.
  • Volunteer in a soup kitchen or similar place
  • Lead by example (show them how to be considerate and explain to them why you are doing it)
  • Have your children do chores without bribing!
  • Show them how to love their siblings ( Family support will help them to be more compassionate )
  • Have them do chores for their grandparents

If you haven't been doing these things its never too late!! Help your children learn compassion. Start today and you will be thank full you did!!

“Perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself do   the thing you have to do, whether you like it or not.”
Thomas Henry Huxley
There is nothing cuter than a child who has manners.

When was the last time you had a child say thank you without being prompted?

If you have any suggestions on how to help the worlds children learn compassion please post a comment below! This is our planet, our choices create the world we live in!

                                   Thank you :)

Who knew starting a blog would be so easy!

This morning I woke up and it started just like many mornings before.
My 2yr old daughter rocking back and forth in her crib creating a loud thumping noise.

Groggily I pulled my self out of bed, got dressed and headed upstairs to start my day.

My husband and I had stayed up until 3am the night before, because he was prepping himself to switch over to night shift. Why did I do this? Some say I'm a risk taker Lol. Actually I just love my hubby is all! One of the cons of this decision was, weight gain like 2~3lbs. Its just water weight but really, I'm sure its a direct consequence of my body's lack of sleep.

          Man was I grouchy! bah!!!

Little did I know but today would prove to be a day completely different than the rest.......

After I fed my youngest breakfast and cleaned her up. I found my self on the Internet searching how to earn extra cash. My longing to help contribute to the household income lead me to stumble onto an awesome blog describing how to earn money with a blog! After reading this "How to guide" I was inspired and decided that this is something that I would really like to do.

I don't have much of a background in writing but, I do enjoy sharing and hope that people around the world will be interested to learn how one strong headed Canadian women endures everyday life.

Let me tell you more often than not I don't know how I  make it through the day all in one piece. But somehow I do make it, and I am a stronger person for it.

          I would like to tell you a little bit about me and my family;
  • I'm a stay at home mother of 4 years
  • We have three little girls whom my husband and I adore!
  • We live in a small town in central Alberta, Canada
  • My husband and I have been married for 3 and a half years
  • My husband works in the oil field industry
  • We have just decided this year to get very serious about saving for a house :)!!
As time goes on you will learn lots more about me and my cute little family.
I would like this blog to be a helpful tool for Mothers who are having a hard time keeping their head above water (trust me I know how that feels!;)

For some mothers this stay at home thing is easy!

But for others its a struggle between the old you (pre-motherhood) which was much simpler v.s the job of keeping a house and family in order. I'm just now realising that I do want to stay home longer but in order to buy our house, some type of income from me will be needed. That is why I'm so excited to venture on to this new path of blogging!

Hello Cyber world its nice to meet you!!!

Looking forward to my next blog!
